About Us

We are
Partners in Compassion

Every month, the Pantry serves many hardworking families in Mount Olive. These are our neighbors who would otherwise go to bed hungry.

We are Partners in Compassion Inc., a partnership of religious, private, and public institutions and individuals cooperatively meeting the needs of the community of Mount Olive.

Hardworking

Mount Olive is a community of hardworking individuals. Most have blue- or white-collar jobs and strong family values. But a number of those families are struggling to put food on their tables in spite of bringing home a paycheck every week. These are the families the Mount Olive Pantry serves.

The Beginning

Originally, Mount Olive Pantry started out as a small office in the Township’s municipal building. In 2013, Mayor Rob Greenbaum wanted to expand the pantry’s services and asked Pastor Matthew Jones and Reverend Sonia Waters if they could help to expand the pantry and its services for the people of Mount Olive. Both pastors visited several pantries to observe operational format, and in 2014, Mount Olive Pantry was privatized under the direction of Partners in Compassion Inc., a charitable 501 C3 organization.

Relocation

The physical pantry was relocated in late spring to its present location at 369 Sandshore Rd, Budd Lake, NJ, In the lower level of Christ Episcopal Church. The office for the Mount Olive Pantry, a subsidiary of Partners in Compassion Inc., is located in Mountaintop Church at 6 Naughright Rd, Hackettstown, NJ.

Susan Morse began as the pantry administrator in early 2014. She oversees pantry operations and makes sure the pantry is adequately stocked with food for those in need. The pantry is staffed by volunteers from area churches and residents who have a heart to help those in need. The pantry is currently open twice a week plus an additional two nights each month.
